Presenting With Confidence In Public
By :
Jack Moore
Scale back your fear of talking by taking these steps.
1) Do You Homework
Visit or call key participators to ask them what they anticipate from your presentation. That is, what do they need to learn from it? What do they already know about this topic? How will your show help them? Such chats enroll these people as your allies during your display. It also helps you find out what folks expect, so you can deliver it. This is like picking up the solutions to an examination before taking it.
2) Get Youself Ready.
Write an outline, and if at all possible write a script for key parts of it ( like the opening and close ). Then practice giving your show, without reading the script till you know it so well you can deliver it conversationally. Avoid attempting to commit to memory a script. That makes things too complex and tough. Practice your speech anywhere and at any time. As an example, you can talk thru parts of it while jogging, working on chores, or having a shower.
