Chris Ferguson - Professional Poker Player Review Series

Ages after ages we come across legends. This is the story of a living legend from the field of Poker. In the world of poker game the shining star is none other than Chris Jesus Ferguson. Winner of 5 World Series of Poker bracelets along with the NBC National Heads Up Poker Championship in the year 2008, Feb 29th with a prize money of $ 500,000. This is the most recognized face in poker. Here are some information's about the personal and professional life of this legendary poker player.

He was born on 11th April, 1963, Los Angeles, California. When born his name was Christopher Philip Ferguson later named as Chris Jesus Ferguson? He earned the nickname Jesus due to his beard and long, brown hair. Ferguson is a Ph.D. in computer science from UCLA in the 1999 as an undergraduate after five years and 13 years as a graduate student. A degree in computer science is not a piece of cake, it's basically like getting a degree in mathematics plus programming. His parents have doctoral degrees in mathematics. His father Thomas Ferguson is a teacher of game theory and theoretical probability in UCLA.

Before he was 10 Ferguson started playing poker though it was casual. In the year 1994 he began playing in tournaments in California. His first entrance to World Series of Poker was in the year 1995. This poker player won the 2000 WSOP by defeating T. J. Cloutier and earned prize money of $ 1.5 million. This legendary poker player helped launch the online site of poker Full Tilt Poker. He was the runner of National Heads-up Poker in the year 2005. In the year 2008 he made the finals for third time and defeated Andy Bloch to win the title. He is the record winner in four-year period of the tournament, with a record of 16-3.

This poker player is now 44 years old and still young enough to challenge the youths. His ambition is to be a Professor of Game Theory at a major University. Apart from playing poker he is also an excellent swing dancer. He has finished in the First Place in this game for 11 times. Ferguson's favorite poker game is No Limit Hold'em, and No Limit 5-card Stud. His favorite movie is Monty Python and the Holy Grail and his favorite place is Watamu beach, which is situated in Kenya. Gandhi and Martin Luther King are his favorite celebrities. This poker player is also a fond of music and his favorite music are R&B, Jazz and Classical.

Poker players whom he respects more are Erik Seidel, Dan Harrington, Mike Sexton, and Daniel Negreanu. If possible then Ferguson wants to teach people to be more tolerant & accepting, and less hypocritical. He has a wish for poker world and that is, casinos should get very tough on abusive players, so poker can have the respect it deserves. This thought simply proves that what a game needs from the person who is playing. In one word we call it devotion. Chris will be sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
