The garage facelift is one of the considerations when choosing for a garage door. Your existing garage facelift is your basis and guide when choosing the garage door which will fit its size, shape, style and opening methods. It can also help you estimate the space for parking and drive through. You need to have the right idea so that you will not overlook by having a stilted garage.

There are just a few types of garage door. Each has its own characteristic, advantages and use. It really is up to you to choose which is which!

The roller garage door is a perfect option for home owners who have limited space for driveways or space problems. The roller door simply rolls up and down around a drum above the opening. This is usually mechanized meaning you can get the door opened without leaving your car seat. This proves to be helpful especially during bad weather. They also have automated locking system which is usually located inside the garage. They are usually operated by a remote control which may also activate lighting system when turned on. Most roller doors are usually fabricated with aluminum materials. Since they have the feature of being narrow, it would be easy and convenient to roll up into the drum within the garage.

The movement of Up-and-over garage doors is that it sways outwards and then upwards the garage ceiling. This is the typical type but usually requires a lot of space – both at the ground and at the top so that it will be able to swing freely. This is especially disadvantageous to those with short driveways – you cannot part near to your garage door because it requires space when it swings outward to open.

Sectional garage doors works by moving up and folding back to the ceiling. These are usually large sized panels with spacious sections. These kinds open upwards, unlike the typical door which needs to be swung outward first before it can be opened.

The swing hung garage door is the most traditional type of garage door. It is a classic. It can be opened like a typical door in the house. The main disadvantage of this door is that it requires large space when it is being opened. It is not being recommended for narrow and short driveways.
